Leaking Valleys Cause Widespread Roof Damage
Roof valleys — the internal angles where two roof slopes meet — channel a large volume of rainwater from both sides of the roof. When a valley lining fails, the water has nowhere to go except into the roof structure below. Valley leaks are particularly damaging because they are often slow and hidden, saturating timber, insulation and plaster over months before any visible signs appear inside.
Radiant Roofing replaces lead valley linings across Kent, Sussex and Surrey. We strip the tiles back from both sides of the valley, remove the old lining, inspect the valley boards beneath for rot, and install a new Code 5 lead valley with correctly formed drips, laps and tile soakers. The result is a valley that will channel water reliably for 50 years or more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Lead valley replacement typically costs between £500 and £3,000. Short dormer valleys start from £500, while full-length main valleys run £1,500 to £3,000 depending on length, access and whether valley boards need replacing. Scaffold is usually required and is included in our fixed quote.
A properly installed Code 5 lead valley lasts 50 to 100 years. Lead is by far the most durable valley lining material — it outlasts GRP fibreglass valleys, mortar valleys and proprietary valley troughs by decades. The initial cost is higher but the long-term value is unmatched.
The tiles on both sides of the valley need to be carefully stripped back to access the lining beneath. We refit the same tiles after the new lead is installed. If any tiles are cracked or damaged during the process, we replace them with matching tiles at no extra charge.
We cover Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex and Surrey. Our teams regularly replace lead valleys in Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Uckfield, Haywards Heath, East Grinstead and surrounding areas.
