These junctions are under constant stress from thermal movement, and over time the lead pulls out of the chase line or lifts away from the tiles. Once the seal breaks, water runs down the wall and into the roof structure, causing damp, staining and timber damage.

Step flashings follow the stepped profile of a pitched roof where it meets a wall — each piece overlaps the one below, matching the tile courses. Cover flashings are continuous strips used on straight horizontal junctions. Both are chased into the brickwork and sealed. We fit whichever type is correct for your roof geometry.
We do not recommend it. Self-adhesive flashing tapes are a temporary repair that typically lasts three to five years before peeling away. Properly installed Code 4 lead sheet lasts 50 years or more. For a permanent repair, real lead is always the right choice.
